### Readings

### Suggested approach
In broad terms, your answer should be structured as follows:

- Provide an introduction that summarises the aims and structure of your assignment
- Clearly state the answer to your question or position before you develop your essay.
- As you discuss the issues, be sure to use examples from the health sector to illustrate your points.
- Provide a conclusion that brings together key points covered in your essay.
### Word count
Your answer should be a maximum of 2,500 words. A maximum of one table and/or one figure is permitted to be included in your answer. Legends must not exceed 100 words or include details of methods. Tables and figures are excluded from the word limit. The maximum word count will include in-text citations, but excludes reference lists (bibliographies) and appendices.
### Assessment criteria
Your assignment will be assessed according to the following criteria. The allocation of
marks is provided to help you decide how much time and space to devote to each
aspect.
- Clear explanation and application of relevant economic concepts and theories = 30%
- Correct use of examples from the health sector = 30%
- Demonstrate ability to critically appraise concepts, theories and published evidence = 25%
- Overall presentation - coherent arguments and clear structure (i.e. introduction and conclusion, correct citation, appropriate reference list) = 15%
HINT: Ask yourself these basic questions before submitting your assignment: Have all parts of the question been answered? Is there a structure? (i.e. is there a beginning, middle and an end?), Are the paragraphs linked? Also, carefully proof read your assignment at least twice to ensure that your points are concise and clear and that there are no grammatical or typographical errors which will distract and frustrate your marker!
