## From [[Momoh Banya]], on [[GHM102 Session 02 Global Health Governance#Activity 2.3]] Thank you all very much for your contributions so far - re engaging with/exploring the concept of governance including/especially in the context of global health. You did well to highlight, amongst other things, the meanings/understandings of the concept of governancein in your different languages/settings, etc.; - Examples of governance in the context of health and other issue areas; - Differences between governance and government, as well as the global nature of global health governance (GHG) (or not?); and the - Actors involved in GHG - state/non-state, public/private, etc., and modes of interaction between/amongst the diferent actors including partnerships; All of this is very good! However, going forward - please note/endeavour to also highlight/examine these other/following issues as you further engage with/explore the concept of GHG and/or the governance of global health as the case may be ... - Compare/contrast governance at the national and international/global spheres/contexts, as well as the interplay/interaction of actors and issues involved; - Re actors in GHG - what is/are their area(s)/level(s) of involvement? - E.g., finance/funding, technical expertise, norms/standards setting, etc. In short, what is the extent of their role(s) and/or the influence they exert in GHG? - i.e., in setting/determining the agenda, programmes of action, service-delivery, etc.; - Compare/contrast the roles/influence of the different actors involved in GHG - to determine among other things which is more powerful/influential, etc.; and - In relation to the concept/issue of power - what power dynamics are involved/at play in the context of GHG and/or the GH issues being considered? - Provide empirical cases/examples - in order to put things into perspective; and - Challenges and criticisms/critiques and so on ...
